A massive thanks to all our volunteers, referees, sponsors and to our teams, for an amazing WorldNet and BigTamVets 2022 down in Nottingham last weekend.
Congratulations to all our winners:
Fir Park Corner (Motherwell) who won the IFA Challenge Cup final and completed the “Quadruple” by beating Preston North End 3-2 in a well-contested Friday night final at the David Ross Sports Village.
Manchester City SFC who won the IFA WorldNet Cup thanks to a Golden Goal by Ian Arnfield to beat RC Lens A 1-0 in the final.
AFC Halifax became the first club to win the “WorldNet Treble” of Cup, BigTamVets and Plate competitions as they beat Real Maroon (Hearts) 2-1 in the WorldNet Plate Final.
Finally, congratulations to the Internet Millers (Rotherham United) who became the first team to successfully defend the BigTamVets trophy, beating Everton 3-0 in the final. Two goals from Chris Shadwick saw him pick up the inaugural Boocock-Goodair Trophy for BigTamVets Final Man of the Match.
A great atmosphere throughout the event and loads of memories to look back on, and planning will commence soon for the 2023 edition with details to follow over the coming weeks and months. The feedback form will be issued to all Team Organisers imminently.
And finally, a big thank you to all the staff at University of Nottingham for all their help and support in ensuring our event is as successful as it is. The venue at Riverside Sports Complex is perfect for our event, and we look forward to returning over the coming years.
Roll on 2023!
